Margaret McDermott

Margaret McDermott is the Executive Director and Founder of Horizon Wellness Group.

Margaret has been developing custom wellness programs for corporations for ten years. Her goal is to be a supportive element in helping companies create a culture of wellness for their employees.

"My favorite thing about the wellness business is that our "product" is actually our wellness people. We represent doctors, holistic and lifestyle vendors that are committed to what they do. Also, connecting companies with the "right" wellness vendor is a very rewarding process."

I am interested in individual transformation, art, photography and in new ideas and business that relate to positive change.

Tara Rosa

Tara Rosa has been working for Horizon in total for 10 years. Tara is in charge of booking NYC events and handling the flu shot program every year. She does anything and everything. When things happen, she is always behind the scenes, making sure it goes smoothly.

"My favorite thing about working with Horizon Wellness Group is being a connector for businesses and vendors in order to find the best fit for each one."

When I am not at work, I am busy taking care of my husband and daughter. I enjoy spending time with my family and staying on the move!

Dayna Douglas

Dayna Douglas is an event coordinator for Horizon Wellness Group.  She organizes the Long Island events and out of state event for Horizon Wellness Group.  She also is the massage therapist coordinator for New York City.  Dayna has been working for Horizon since 2008.

"My favorite thing about working for HWG is that I get to meet so many good people and see all different work environments.  I love that everyone in the business is very health conscious and open to all different paths to wellness and not just the usual 'let's just pour drugs down their throats' approach."

"My hobbies include hanging out with my family and trying to keep them as active as they can be!  When I do get some down time, I love to do crafts of all kinds!"

Ellen Bullinger

Ellen Bullinger-Account Manager
Ellen sets up and manages accounts with new and old clients. She works with our team to coordinate unique health fairs for each client as well as oversee and run these events at each company. She also runs many events for clients booked by our Executive Director, Margaret McDermott.

My goal at HWG, as it is with everything I do, is to make a difference. Our events educate and inspire people to take better care of their health, which leads to a better quality of life.

I have been working in this industry together with Margaret McDermott since before we opened our doors at HWG. I am proud that we re-created the health fair wheel to incorporate the whole-person approach to wellness, which includes holistic health and eastern and western medical philosophies.

My favorite thing about working in this business is definitely the wonderful people and the fabulous doctors and holistic practitioners with whom I work. I enjoy helping our experts expand their healing work into the community. I also enjoy constantly gaining new insights into wellness modalities such as feng shui and holistic nutrition. I love working with Margaret McDermott and maintaining our high standard of integrity. I appreciate the flexibility of this work, and enjoy using my creative flair.

I am a professional actor, jazz/pop vocalist and recording artist, and hold a degree in Opera. I have performed in The Phantom of the Opera in Hamburg. Germany, here in NYC off-Broadway in Our Sinatra, and have sung in cabaret and with orchestras on cruises throughout the world. I have a successful vocal studio where I teach private voice lessons in midtown Manhattan. I am a weekly cantor at the Church of St. Paul the Apostle in NYC, and am also the Co-Director of the Homeless Shelter there.

Carol Nelson

Carol Nelson is a Nurse Educator with the Horizon Wellness Group and has been part of the wellness team for the past year. She graduated magna cum laude with a BSN from Adelphi University in 2009, in preparation for a second career, and is a Registered Nurse and a certified Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) practitioner.

Carol draws on her extensive experience as a former human resources executive in educating and counseling clients, in both group settings and individually, on all aspects of preventive care and wellness issues.

"What attracted me to this specialty of healthcare is the opportunity to educate individuals about the importance of preventive care -- physically, mentally and spiritually -- in maintaining wellness. Helping clients in developing plans and personal objectives for achieving their health goals, and responding to their needs for healthcare information and guidance is extremely rewarding".

Carol is a Reiki Master and a member of the volunteer group of a major corporation recognized nationally for community work. She enjoys learning about various cultures through international travel, engages in a range of arts and crafts projects, and provides counsel and guidance to the youth in her extended family.
